Nomad

A person or group with no single fixed home, who moves from place to place as a way of life.

Also called: nomadic people, nomadism

Nomads move for good reasons: to follow grass and water for herds, to follow wild foods through the seasons, or to trade and offer services. The movement is planned and usually follows known routes within a known territory. People who move for part of the year and settle for the rest are called semi-nomadic.
