Transhumance
Moving livestock between fixed summer and winter pastures each year, usually up and down mountains.

In transhumance the herders have a home base, and only some of the family may travel with the animals. Herds go to high pastures when the snow melts and come back down before winter. It differs from full nomadism, in which the whole household moves and has no fixed home.
