Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people use 'Country', often with a capital letter, for their traditional lands and seas together with the stories, laws and ancestors tied to them. People speak of caring for Country and of Country caring for them. It is close in meaning to homeland, with a stronger sense of duty and relationship.
