Band
A small group of families who live and move together. In Canada it is also the legal name for a First Nation community.

In anthropology a band is the smallest kind of society: a few dozen related people who camp, travel and share food together, with no formal leader. It is typical of hunter-gatherers. In Canada 'band' has a second, legal meaning under the Indian Act: a First Nation community with its own council.
