Sixth Schedule
A part of India's constitution that sets up self-governing tribal councils in parts of four north-eastern states.

The Sixth Schedule applies to tribal areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram. It creates autonomous district councils, elected bodies that can make laws on land, forests, inheritance, marriage and village administration. It gives stronger self-rule than the Fifth Schedule.
